Establishing a company in the design of a product or service, marketing, it is important that the thorough research is conducted before the button names or phrases that your company, product or service to describe. You can perform some of these searches directly from your computer with the U.S. Patent Trademark Office (USPTO) and the online database. With this database you can search for phrases or certain brand name, make sure that you reached registered person trademark.Difficulty: ModerateInstructions1Visit website of the Office (see reference for the link), and click on the link "Search brands" then click "free form search (advanced search)."2 The number of records that you want to be returned (100, 200, 300, 400 or 500), and then type your phrase or name in the "Keyword" text box and click "Submit Query". 3View results for the phrase or the name you entered. If a result as "LIVE", the brand is still active. If it shows as "Dead", the brand was abandoned. 4Continue, that your search by entering a new name/expression text box "Refine search" by clicking on "confirm".
